Trial Testing
Trial testing is a significant part of most Archaeological Impact Assessments and probably the best means of establishing the nature and extent of archaeological layers and features below ground level, particularly when the desktop study and/or geophysical survey has suggested the archaeological potential of an area or site.
Trial testing a site at an early stage in the development project can greatly assist in the planning the development programme and mitigate against delays and unforeseen hold-ups. This company carries out several types of trial testing from large scale centre-line-with-offsets machine testing for major road schemes to small-scale hand dug pits.
